The Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) on Friday approved setting up a separate college for intermediate level studies. LCWU Vice Chancellor Dr Sabiha Mansoor said the principal of the college, to be established by March 2012, would report directly to the vice chancellor.
She said the college was necessary in view of the rising number of students. Dr Mansoor was speaking at the 43rd meeting of the syndicate of the university.
The meeting also approved the annual budget and restructuring of faculties and setting up of new institutes.
The meeting also decided to establish an on-campus daycare centre. According to the budget details, the university will spend Rs830.631 million and earn Rs792.098 million this year – a deficit of Rs38.53 million. The meeting also approved re-designing of chief security officer, director administration and project director posts.
