Demoted: Transport minister loses portfolio
Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah will look after department affairs for now.
KARACHI:
The Sindh government took the transport department back from Minister for Transport Akhtar Hussain Jadoon on Wednesday. He will now have serve as a minister without a portfolio. Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah will look after department affairs for now. The move came just before the Muttahida Qaumi Movement rejoined the ruling coalition on Wednesday night. Officials claim that the portfolio was removed on the MQM’s leaders’ demand as they were not happy with Jadoon’s performance. Jadoon is a Pakistan Peoples Party MPA elected from Keamari Town. “It is most likely that the department’s portfolio will be given to the MQM,” said officials.
