
Germany’s Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development parliamentary state secretary pledged €5.6 million in aid for flood victims. The pledge came during a dinner reception celebrating the 21st anniversary of Germany’s reunification and was hosted by German Ambassador Dr Ingrid John Koch.
Minister for Water and Power Naveed Qamar appreciated the strong bilateral relations between Pakistan and Germany. Kopp said that the five-decade friendship between the two countries served as encouragement to continue bilateral relations in other fields as well. “We are a reliable friend to Pakistan, which 50 years of close cooperation between the two countries shows,” she said.
German Ambassador Dr Koch thanked the participants, saying that, “Germany is proud to have strong relations with Pakistan,” and that apart from celebrating the unity of Germany, the reception was also intended to celebrate the friendship between both countries.
