Breaking ties: Former Punjab Governor Mian Azhar joins PTI
Azhar is PML-Q founding president and former Punjab governor.

Former Punjab Governor and PML-Q leader Mian Azhar formally joined Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI) on Wednesday.
The announcement was made in a special event held at Mian Azhar's residence in Lahore.
PTI chairman Imran Khan, while welcoming Mian Azhar as the new member of his party said the PTI has accomplished a great victory in Punjab today.
Talking to the media after the announcement, Khan said that people are ready to fight against corruption in the country and should come together as one party.
Earlier there were reports in the media that the PML-Q founding president was contemplating joining forces with Khan, after the latter's recent invitation to join the party.
Azhar was mayor of the metropolitan corporation Lahore from 1987-1991. He was unable to win a national assembly seat in the 2002 and 2008 elections.
