Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) cancelled the registration of 26 doctors after their degrees were found to be fake on Friday.

PMDC sources told Online that its registration section had begun the process of checking degrees of 150,000 registered doctors across the country under the directives of registrar Dr Ahmad Nadeem Akbar.

Sources also said most of the fake degree holders had registered on the basis of degrees issued by medical colleges of Kazakhstan, Afghanistan and other Russian states. The process of verification was completed through embassies and the respective colleges and universities confirmed the degrees as suspicious.

Sources said that a special section had been set up by PMDC for registration and verification of the degrees of the doctors.

The doctors whose degrees have been found to be fake include Syed Kamal Raza, Noman Gul, Nusrat Fatima, Shan ul Haq, Adnan Aurangzeb, Gul Nawaz Khan, Mumtaz Shaukat, Jamshed Sikandar, Syed Faisal Shah, Iftikhar Ahmad, Robina Anwar, Omar Jalal, M Zubair, Abdullah, Ishtiaq Sabri, Noor Muhammad Khan, Jahanzeb, Naveed Ahmad, Islam Khan, Farooq Saleem Khan, Sajjad Ahmad, Shagufta Ambrin, Muhammad Saghir Almas, Rehan Israr, Muhammad Owais and Muhammad Imran Aslam.

A written application has been sent to FIA crime circle Islamabad for registration of cases against these doctors.

Shah | 14 years ago | Reply Almost 98% of MD/MBBS doctors personally known to me are fake, (no doubt few are talented but most are……….) many of them also passed (? so called) PMDC exam, they argue that they are having foreign basic medical education (mostly from Afghanistan, Sindh, and Russian states) but indeed most of them includes health professionals i-e Pharmacists, Dispensers, Health Technicians, Nurses, LHVs, Homeopathic doctors, Tabibs etc. I would like to suggest that government should take it very seriously and clearly announce the special eligibility criteria for PMDC Exam for persons already possess the aforesaid professions irrespective of theirs basic Medical Education, once the appear in the computerized/online, transparent Exam and pass they should properly be trained in hospitals. I think by doing this we can discourage those having bogus documents with no education and talent. Further more we can also discourage quacks and promote health system.
