LAHORE:

The Lahore High Court has directed the Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) to submit a load shedding schedule, after three days of riots amidst the heaviest power outages this year.

Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed issued the order on Tuesday on a petition submitted by Advocate Muhammad Azhar Siddique and then adjourned proceedings until October 11.

The petitioner has asked the court to declare that government buildings like the Presidency and the homes of the chief ministers and prime minister are not exempt from power outages.

The chief justice of the Lahore High Court, on another application from the petitioner seeking uninterrupted electricity supply to hospitals, issued notice to the authorities concerned and adjourned proceedings till October 7.

If we are in the middle of a power crisis, the leadership should ensure it is "Load Sharing" not Load Shedding
