PML-N responsible for instigating protests: Fauzia Wahab

PPP leader says PML-N not serving the masses by provoking the people.

ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Fauzia Wahab said on Tuesday that Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) was responsible for instigating violence in cities across Punjab, following their announcement to support protests against loadshedding.

Speaking to the media outside Parliament House in Islamabad, Wahab said that the PML-N was not serving the masses by provoking the people and spreading violence.

“I want to ask the people of Punjab, have they served the masses through the destruction of the country’s assets?” said the PPP leader.

Earlier, PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif had directed the party to support street protests against prolonged loadshedding and disruption of power.

Fueled by continued power outages, mayhem spread across the country, with infuriated demonstrators attacking buildings, policemen and passing vehicles for a second consecutive day.

The hardest hit by the rioting were Punjab’s urban centres – where there were scores injured and arrested.
