Cricket: Stallions fined for slow over-rate

KARACHI:

Newly crowned Faysal Bank Twenty20 Cup champions Sialkot Stallions were fined Rs 10,000 for maintaining a slow over-rate during their final against Rawalpindi Rams at the National Stadium Karachi day before yesterday.

Although the Stallions are still unhappy with the attitude of the match referee, they have chosen not to contest the punishment and will duly pay the fine imposed on the team.

“The delay was only because of miscommunication on the part of match officials At the end, though, we had the title back and that was more important for us really,” said Sialkot team manager Mohammad Naeem.
