Flood relief: Judges donate 3-day salaries

GILGIT: In the wake of devastation caused by the recent floods in Sindh, the judges of Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) Supreme Appellate Court (SAC) have decided to donate their three-day salaries for the affected people, officials said on Sunday.“The decision was taken during a full court meeting headed by Justice Muhammad Nawaz Abbasi on Saturday,” said Ibrahim Shahid, a senior official at the SAC. Shahid explained that one-day salary of other court officials will also be deducted to increase the amount of donation. He explained that the Accountant General’s Office has also been informed about the decision, adding that the donation will be given to PM’s flood relief fund. “The people of G-B are equally worried about their countrymen who have been displaced by the floods, and we offer all our support to them in their hour of need,” Shahid remarked.
