Pakistan’s Ambassador to the US Hussain Haqqani said on Thursday there is no purely military solution to the Afghan conflict.

In an interview, Haqqani said there has to be a socio-economic and a political dimension to the challenges and threats posed by the Taliban.

He said there is no point in killing a few people and then those people being replaced by new recruits.

The ambassador also said that there is no distinction between Afghan Taliban, Pakistani Taliban and Punjabi Taliban as they are all involved in terrorism.

Haqqani said Afghanistan should not be used as a terrorist safe haven against Pakistan or against any other country in the world.
