During hearings of petitions against the amendment in the Supreme Court, Ghafar said people are represented through their chosen representatives in a parliamentary form of system.
In response to this, Justice Javed Iqbal observed that all female parliamentarians on reserved seats would have to go home in case the court declares the article unconstitutional.
Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry said the Supreme Court will meticulously examine the challenge to the amendment brought in the article.
The lawyer also challenged the amendment under which party chiefs have the power to dismiss parliamentarians.
