KARACHI: The Maritime Security Agency (MSA) arrested 48 Indian fishermen Friday and seized eight boats on charges of illegal fishing in Pakistani waters. They were handed over to the Docks police. MSA officials said that the fishermen have been warned time and again to stay out of these waters, but were eager to exploit the rich fishing grounds at the Indus delta. The officials told reporters that the fishermen were caught in the exclusive economic zone. The police registered a case under the foreigner and fisheries acts.
