LARKANA:

The University of Larkano has sought an additional financial lifeline from the Sindh government to bridge a projected budget deficit of Rs524.3 million and address pressing infrastructure needs threatening its academic and developmental ambitions.

The financial challenges were discussed during Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari's visit to the university, where CM Shah briefed him on its financial position, academic affairs and future requirements.

For 2026-27, the university has estimated available resources at Rs894.568m, including Rs632m in provincial grants and Rs262.568m in internally generated revenue. However, it faces a projected deficit of Rs524.311m, with no grant allocation from the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
