PTA terms internet services 'excellent'
Undertakes survey in twin cities to evaluate telcos' performance

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has described the performance of telecom companies pertaining to internet services as excellent in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
PTA conducted a comprehensive Quality of Experience (QoE) and Quality of Service (QoS) field survey at key locations across Islamabad and Rawalpindi to evaluate the performance, reliability and quality of telecommunication services being provided to consumers. The exercise was led by PTA Chairman Major General (Retd) Hafeez Ur Rehman, Member (Finance) Muhammad Naveed, Member (Compliance & Enforcement) Dr Khawar Siddique Khokhar, Member Telecom Muhammad Jahanzeb Rahim, director general (enforcement), director general (IR & GA) and enforcement officers.
Representatives of the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, mobile network operators and media representatives also participated in the performance assessment activity.
Three dedicated teams simultaneously undertook field assessments along designated routes, covering the New Islamabad International Airport, T-Chowk, major roads and connecting corridors, including the Constitution Avenue, Club Road, Murree Road, Rawal Road and areas surrounding the old airport.
During the evaluation, survey teams and media representatives used live data and made voice calls at various locations across the twin cities to assess the actual network performance and consumer experience. Initial results demonstrated excellent performance, reflecting the quality and reliability of telecom services in the areas covered.
The survey was aimed at evaluating the mobile network performance, service availability and actual consumer experience, while identifying the potential service gaps and areas requiring improvement. PTA says it remains committed to strengthening the regulatory oversight through regular field monitoring, evidence-based assessments and close coordination with telecom operators to ensure continuous improvement in service quality and reliable connectivity for consumers.
