Jennifer Connelly makes surprise Marvel return in ‘VisionQuest’
The actress has previously voiced two artificial intelligence systems created by Tony Stark

Jennifer Connelly has made a surprise appearance in Marvel’s VisionQuest, with the actress reportedly voicing a mysterious artificial intelligence character in the Disney+ series.
Connelly is credited as the voice of D.E.E.D.E.E. in the fifth episode, titled “Firewall”. The appearance has caught the attention of Marvel fans, particularly because the actress is married to series star Paul Bettany, who plays Vision.
D.E.E.D.E.E. is an artificial intelligence associated with Tony Stark in Marvel lore. Stark created several AI systems to manage his laboratories and technology, making the character’s introduction a potential connection to the wider Marvel universe. However, Connelly’s role in the episode appears limited to a brief vocal appearance, with no confirmation yet of whether she will return.
The casting also marks another connection between Connelly and Marvel adaptations. She previously played Betty Ross, Bruce Banner’s love interest, in 2003’s Hulk. When Marvel rebooted the character in The Incredible Hulk in 2008, Liv Tyler took over the role.
Connelly later joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe through voice work in Spider-Man: Homecoming. She voiced Karen, the artificial intelligence integrated into Peter Parker’s Spider-Man suit, which was also created using Stark technology.
Outside Marvel, Connelly has appeared in several projects adapted from comic books and graphic novels, including The Rocketeer, Snowpiercer and Alita: Battle Angel.
Her appearance in VisionQuest adds another unexpected layer to the series, which has already attracted attention for its connections to previous Marvel stories. Whether D.E.E.D.E.E. becomes more significant in later episodes remains unclear.
For now, the cameo offers a playful connection between Connelly and Bettany’s Marvel careers, while giving longtime fans another detail to discuss as the series unfolds.
