The power utility K-Electric has restored the electricity to the Gharo Pumping Station after a 15-hour outage, following which water supply to Karachi resumed. According to a Water Corporation spokesperson, the prolonged power suspension resulted in a shortfall of approximately 14 million gallons of water in the city.
The spokesperson said electricity supply to the Gharo Pumping Station was suspended at 1pm on Monday due to a cable fault in K-Electric's power system.
