ISLAMABAD:

A passenger has reportedly gone missing from the New Islamabad International Airport. Official sources said the missing passenger had been stopped by airport staff after his name was found on the Passenger Control List (PCL).

The staff had reportedly asked him to wait in the airport's briefing area, from where he appeared to have gone missing. The Airport Police have registered a case of kidnapping and initiated an investigation.

According to the police, the complainant, Muhammad Ikram, who hails from Peshawar, stated that on September 5, 2026, he went to the Islamabad Airport to drop off his elder brother, Muhammad Shah Jahan and his mother, Roshan Bibi, who were travelling to the United States. He said his mother and brother had proceeded inside the airport for boarding, while he waited outside until their flight departed. He added that shortly thereafter, his brother called to inform him that he had been stopped from boarding the plane because his name was on the Passenger Control List (PCL). Ikram stated that his mother returned to him because she could not travel on her own and they both waited for his brother.

He said that they kept waiting for him until 9am and when he still did not return, they visited the FIA Islamabad Zone office in Sector G-6 to inquire about his whereabouts.
