IHC orders recovery of girl
.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed the police to recover a girl who has been missing for nine months and produce her before the court within two weeks.
Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro issued the directive while hearing a petition filed by the missing girl's father, Abid Hussain. The investigation officer (IO) informed the court that positive progress had been made in the case and that efforts were under way to produce the girl before the court soon.
The petitioner's counsel submitted that despite the passage of several months, no significant progress had been made. A joint investigation team (JIT) had been constituted after the family lost confidence in the police, but the girl had still not been recovered. The counsel also pointed out that the geofencing report had yet to be received.
The counsel representing the police informed the court that the JIT's latest meeting had been held on October 20 and that the police were conducting operations in coordination with various agencies.
