ISLAMABAD':

The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad on Monday sentenced a man to seven years of rigorous imprisonment for harassing a 16-year-old boy and recording an inappropriate video without his consent.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs1 million on the convict.

Additional Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka announced the verdict in a case registered under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA).

The court found the main accused, Raja Haris Naveed, guilty of the charges and awarded him seven years of rigorous imprisonment.

The court also directed him to pay a fine of Rs1 million. In case of non-payment, he will have to serve an additional six months in prison.

However, the court acquitted co-accused Shahzaib Meraj, giving him the benefit of the doubt after finding that the charge of assisting in the crime had not been established.

According to the case details, the main accused allegedly lured a 16-year-old matriculation student into a drawing room and locked him inside.

He then allegedly used a firearm to threaten and harass the minor before recording an inappropriate video without his consent.
