Weapons, drugs seized at bus stand
.

Disappointed with the alleged poor performance of Pirwadhai police and its failure to take effective action against drug addicts, pickpockets and criminal elements despite repeated complaints, the Regional Transport Authority (RTA), responsible for regulating public transport, took matters into its own hands and conducted a major operation in collaboration with the Civil Defence.
Staff of the transport authority, accompanied by Civil Defence personnel, have conducted a major operation at Pirwadhai General Bus Stand, the city's largest bus terminal, over the past 10 days, seizing a large quantity of knives, cutters, equipment used for drug consumption and other suspicious items.
According to sources, the presence of drug addicts, pickpockets and other suspicious individuals at Pirwadhai General Bus Stand had been brought to the attention of the relevant police authorities on several occasions.
