Musadik seeks climate-resilient development

ISLAMABAD:

Minister for Climate Change Musadik Malik on Monday called for a shift towards rights-based and climate-resilient development.

He stressed that poor and vulnerable communities should not continue to bear the disproportionate burden of climate change, global economic inequalities and mounting debt.

Addressing the inaugural plenary session of the 29th Sustainable Development Conference (SDC 2026) under the theme "Rethinking Development in an Age of Disruption," the minister said development should not be measured merely in dollars but by its impact on the lives and future generations of ordinary people.
