KARACHI:

As the metropolis gradually transitions towards winter, sharp fluctuations between daytime and nighttime temperatures are expected to create contrasting weather conditions, potentially affecting human health and the well-being of domestic animals, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned.

In its three-day weather forecast, the Met Office's Early Warning Centre said the considerable difference between daytime and nighttime temperatures could pose health risks, urging people to remain cautious amid changing weather conditions.

The PMD said Karachi would continue to experience the influence of sea breezes, alongside north-easterly and north-westerly winds originating from Balochistan and Tharparkar.

The minimum temperature in the city is expected to hover around 21 degrees Celsius over the next three days, while the maximum could climb to 37°C, indicating relatively hot afternoons despite the seasonal transition.

Meanwhile, central and upper parts of Sindh are likely to experience dry weather, with relatively cooler nights. Southern parts of the province, however, are expected to remain hot and dry.

According to the Met Office, Karachi recorded a maximum temperature of 35.3°C on Sunday, down 1.7 degrees from the previous day. The relative humidity stood at 29 per cent.
