Pakistani nationals travelling to Qatar can obtain a 30-day tourist visa on arrival, provided they meet a set of requirements, Doha News reported on Sunday, citing the country's Ministry of Interior (MoI).

According to the ministry's website, applicants must have at least 5,000 Qatari riyals in cash or an equivalent amount available through a valid credit card to qualify for the visa.

"The applicant should hold the amount of (5000 QR) or the equivalent of a valid credit card," the ministry stated.

Visitors must also present a confirmed return ticket and hold a passport with at least six months' validity.

The ministry further specified that travellers arriving directly from Pakistan must provide a polio vaccination certificate.

"Those coming directly from Pakistan should receive a certificate of vaccination against polio," it said.

The visa is valid for 30 days and can be extended for a further 30 days, provided travellers have a confirmed return ticket before the extension is granted, according to the ministry.

Meanwhile, Pakistani nationals travelling to Qatar for business purposes can arrange visits only through accredited companies.
