Patrick Mahomes' family dresses as 'Toy Story' characters with Taylor Swift reference

Patrick and Brittany Mahomes shared their family's 'Toy Story' costumes, featuring Taylor Swift soundtrack

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his family celebrated Halloween with a Toy Story-themed set of costumes, with Brittany Mahomes sharing photographs of their outfits on Instagram on Saturday.

Patrick dressed as Buzz Lightyear, wearing the character's signature purple hood and helmet, while Brittany took on the role of Jessie with a red cowgirl hat, long red braid and cow-print chaps.

Their three children also joined the theme. Three-year-old Bronze dressed as Woody, complete with a yellow plaid shirt, red bandana and brown cowboy hat.

Their youngest child, 21-month-old Golden, wore a green costume inspired by the franchise's three-eyed aliens.

Five-year-old Sterling chose Barbie, wearing hot pink flared trousers, a matching handbag and heart-shaped sunglasses.

Her pose attracted particular attention from fans, with one commenting, "Hahahaha SERVE it up, Sterling girl." Another wrote, "I love that Patrick always dresses up for the theme."

The family's photographs featured Taylor Swift's song "I Knew It, I Knew You" from Toy Story 5.

The track was written around the character Jessie, with Swift revealing that she composed it after watching an early version of the film. She said she "wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening."

Toy Story 5 was released in cinemas on June 19, making the characters a timely choice for the family's Halloween outfits.

Mahomes previously admitted that he had almost forgotten about Halloween because of his football commitments. During an October 14 press conference, he recalled Brittany asking what the family would wear.

"It surprised me. I forgot about Halloween," Mahomes said. He added, "Brittany asked me, 'What are we going to be for Halloween?' I'm like, 'I didn't even think about that.'"
