The Embassy of Pakistan in Tehran categorically rejected reports circulating on social media and other forums concerning Ambassador Imran Ahmed Siddiqui, describing them as baseless and factually incorrect.

In a post on X, the embassy said it had taken note of reports concerning Siddiqui and categorically rejected them.

“The embassy categorically clarifies that these reports are baseless and factually incorrect,” it said.

Earlier, reports had emerged that Siddiqui was attacked in the Iranian capital, Tehran. According to these reports, he had been invited to attend a gathering when several individuals allegedly attacked him.

Qatar, alongside Pakistan, has since led efforts to end the conflict, which has disrupted global shipping and oil supplies and recently spread to Saudi Arabia and Yemen.

Washington wants Iran's decades-old nuclear programme to be part of negotiations to end the war from the outset. Tehran, however, maintains that its conditions, including an end to the US blockade of Iranian ports and the lifting of sanctions on its oil exports, must be met first.

Iran has rejected Western concerns that its nuclear programme is military in nature.
