Teenage girl alleges repeated assault

RAWALPINDI:

A married man was arrested for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl in Qazian, within the jurisdiction of Gujar Khan Police Station.

According to police, the suspect, who lived in the same neighbourhood as the victim, allegedly subjected her to sexual assault on multiple occasions while threatening her.

In his complaint, the girl's uncle stated that he belonged to Toba Tek Singh and worked as a labourer in the Habib Canal area of Qazian, where he also resided. He said his 14-year-old niece had come to stay with the family around two to two-and-a-half months ago.

The complainant said the girl recently felt dizzy and was about to be taken to a doctor when she initially refused. She later disclosed, while visibly frightened, that a local resident, identified as Fayyaz, had allegedly sexually assaulted her around two-and-a-half months earlier after finding her alone at home.

He further alleged that the suspect, who was married and had two children, continued to threaten the girl and sexually assault her. The most recent alleged incident took place around 10 days ago, which reportedly contributed to her present condition.

Police said a case had been registered and the suspect taken into custody. Further investigation is under way.
