65-year-old woman found murdered in flat
Victim was 'beaten with a stone before her throat was slashed'

The body of a 65-year-old woman, bearing signs of torture and a slashed throat, was found inside a government flat in FC Area on Wednesday. The victim had allegedly been beaten with a stone before the assailant attempted to slit her throat with a cutter.
The woman, a mother of five, was living with one of her sons, while her husband had been residing separately for the past several years. Meanwhile, her body remained unattended at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for several hours due to the unavailability of a female medico-legal officer (MLO). The MLO on duty also refused to respond to questions from the media.
The body was found at a flat in Block 55/15 of Abad FC Area, within the jurisdiction of the Sharifabad police station. Police reached the scene after receiving information and collected evidence before shifting the body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. The PS Sharifabad SHO said the deceased had been identified as 65-year-old Fareeda Begum, wife of Syed Mahmood Ali. She had four sons and a daughter. Three of her sons and her daughter were married and lived separately, while one son resided with her. Her husband had been living separately with his mother.
