Bhakkar authorities sets up 95 points for subsidised flour
10kg bag priced at Rs1,100, offering Rs230 discount against market rate

The Punjab government has established 95 sale points across Bhakkar district to provide subsidised flour to consumers, with a 10-kilogramme bag priced at Rs1,100, offering a discount of Rs230 compared with the market rate, officials said.
The initiative is being implemented on the directions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to provide relief to households amid rising living costs.
The Food Department has focused on supplying flour in 10kg bags instead of 20kg packs to enable more consumers to benefit from the subsidised rates.
The sale points have been established at key locations across the district's four tehsils, with officials saying adequate stocks are being maintained to meet public demand.
The department has also introduced monitoring arrangements to ensure that flour is sold at the prescribed price and meets the required standards for quality and weight. District Food Controller Hamza Noor said providing quality flour at government-notified rates was a priority for the department in line with the chief minister's directives.
He said a 10kg bag was being sold for Rs1,100, providing consumers with a saving of Rs230 against the market price.
The 95 sale points had been set up to improve access to subsidised flour, while monitoring was being carried out to ensure its availability and prevent irregularities in distribution.
Noor said the relevant staff and dealers had been instructed to cooperate with consumers and ensure that the relief reached them without any irregularities.
He added that the department would continue to focus on uninterrupted supplies and compliance with the notified price.
