JPMC to take the fight to ER attackers
.

The administration of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) has decided to register a case against those involved in an assault on doctors in its emergency department and tighten security across sensitive areas of the hospital, following an attack that left two doctors seriously injured.
According to Young Doctors Association (YDA) JPMC president Dr Ammar Danish, the incident occurred late at night a day earlier when troublemakers attacked doctors working in the emergency department.
An emergency meeting was subsequently held between hospital officials, police and YDA representatives to discuss legal action against the suspects and measures to prevent similar incidents.
It was decided that the hospital administration itself would become the complainant in the case to ensure legal proceedings against all those involved in the attack.
The participants also agreed to jointly inspect sensitive areas, seal unauthorised entry points and strengthen access controls to prevent unlawful entry into the hospital.
Round-the-clock security deployment near the emergency department and intensive care units was also approved to protect medical staff.
