A 20-year-old woman was shot dead at a house in Korangi's Gilgit Colony, with her father accusing her elder sister, brother-in-law and former husband of conspiring to kill her after she refused to reconcile with her ex-husband.
A murder case was registered at Zaman Town police station on the complaint of the victim's father, Abid Shah, who nominated Alina, Hayat Jakhrani and Rafiq Jakhrani in the FIR. Police detained Nimra's elder sister, Alina, for questioning, while her brother-in-law, Hayat Jakhrani, and former husband, Rafiq Jakhrani, remain at large.
According to the FIR, Nimra had obtained a judicial divorce from Rafiq within six to seven months of their marriage. Her father alleged that Rafiq had repeatedly threatened to kill them following the separation. The complainant further alleged that Alina and her husband had received Rs250,000 from Rafiq to facilitate his marriage to Nimra.
