An inquiry against six officers of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), suspended for illegally approving the layout plan (LOP) of a major housing project, has yet to be completed even after nine months.
The inquiry officer himself is due to retire from service next year.
The secretary of the Housing, Urban Development and Public Health Engineering Department took notice of a probe report regarding the approval of a layout plan for 3,400 kanals for University Town, despite the project owning only 1,700 kanals.
He directed the then RDA director general, Kanza Murtaza, to initiate legal action against the responsible officers.
Subsequently, Deputy Director Planning Samiullah Khan Niazi, Assistant Director Planning Shaza Tanveer, Assistant Director Land Haji Dilshad, Scheme Superintendent Shafqat Shah, Scheme Inspector Tariq Kamboh and Draftsman Muhammad Afzal of the MP&T Directorate were suspended.
Director Finance Masood Arshad was appointed inquiry officer to investigate the matter.
