ISLAMABAD:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday visited the families of four deceased political figures in Chichawatni, Sahiwal and Lahore to offer condolences.

In Chichawatni, the prime minister visited the residences of former Punjab Assembly member Chaudhry Muhammad Hanif and former National Assembly member Chaudhry Muhammad Munir Azhar to express his grief and sympathies to their bereaved families.

In Sahiwal, Shehbaz visited the families of former MNA Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf and former Punjab minister for Planning and Development Malik Nadeem Kamran. He offered condolences to the bereaved family members.

Paying tribute to the deceased political leaders, the prime minister said they had served the people of their respective constituencies and worked for democracy. Their contributions to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the people would always be remembered, he added.

In Lahore, Shehbaz visited the residence of Federal Minister Rana Mubashir Iqbal in Kahna to offer condolences on the death of his cousin, Rana Salamat. He recited Fatiha for the deceased.

Separately, the prime minister paid tribute to Naik Saif Ali Janjua Shaheed. He said Janjua had displayed exceptional courage during the 1948 war, repelling enemy attacks despite being wounded and leading his unit until his death.
