Injection reaction claims girl's life
Police arrest practitioner, register case and launch investigation

A five-year-old girl died after allegedly suffering an adverse reaction to an injection administered at a clinic in the Morgah area of Rawalpindi, prompting police to register a case and arrest the alleged practitioner, who is reportedly a compounder.
According to police, complainant Tauqeer Ahmed said his five-year-old niece, Jannat Fatima, fell ill and was taken by him and his father to the clinic of Dr Younis in the Jhamrah area of Morgah for a medical examination.
He alleged that the practitioner administered an injection to the child, after which she collapsed, her complexion began to darken and foam emerged from her mouth. As her condition deteriorated, the practitioner advised the family to take her to a larger hospital.
The child was immediately taken to Benazir Bhutto General Hospital, where doctors reportedly told the family that she had suffered a reaction to an injection. Despite medical efforts, she could not be revived.
The complainant demanded legal action against the practitioner for alleged negligence.
Police said the child's death certificate indicated an injection-related reaction as the cause of death. Following a post-mortem examination, a case was registered and an investigation launched.
Police officials said the suspect had been arrested and that the Health Department's team had been involved in the investigation.
