PPP wants provincial status for G-B: CM

KARACHI:

Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) Chief Minister Amjad Hussain Azar has said the PPP is demanding provincial status for G-B without compromising the Kashmir issue, vowing to make the region a model for Pakistan.

Addressing party workers in Karachi on Sunday, the chief minister said the population of G-B residents living in Sindh, particularly Karachi, had grown considerably.

He said the PPP would address the problems of the G-B people and invited those interested in seeing good governance to visit the region. "We will make Gilgit-Baltistan a model for Pakistan," he said.

Azar pledged to resolve the issues faced by G-B residents living in Sindh.
