Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Sunday said improved relations with the federal government were a welcome development for the province, stressing that K-P could not function without the centre’s cooperation.

Speaking to the media after attending a gathering in Swabi, the governor said the province’s problems could only be resolved through joint efforts with the federal government. Promoting cordial and brotherly relations with the federation and other provinces was among his top priorities, he added.

Kundi said six months was a long period and stressed that all stakeholders must work together through coordinated action to combat terrorism.

He also called for action against encroachments without discrimination and strictly in accordance with the law, pledging to apply the law to himself first.

The governor said the media had every right to offer constructive criticism, adding that positive criticism helped improve institutional performance.

He underscored the need for a revolution in education and health, as well as far-reaching measures to improve institutions and provide better facilities to the public.
