The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has issued a travel advisory for Pakistani pilgrims travelling to Iran and Iraq, urging them to verify flights in advance and make alternative travel arrangements to avoid disruptions.
According to a ministry spokesperson, pilgrims should confirm their flights, particularly those operated by Iranian airlines, before departing for either country or travelling between the two destinations.
Pilgrims planning to fly from Tehran or Mashhad to Najaf have been advised against relying on unconfirmed flights and urged to arrange alternative travel options in advance.
The ministry also advised pilgrims to carry sufficient funds to cover alternative air or land travel between Iran and Iraq, as well as additional accommodation and food expenses in case of flight cancellations or other emergencies.
Registered Ziarat Group Organisers (ZGOs) have been directed to avoid relying on unconfirmed Iranian flights and ensure that all pilgrims in their groups are informed of the advisory before departure.
