Cillian Murphy and Jack O’Connell are set to play brothers in A Quiet Place Part 3, bringing the two actors together in another major horror franchise.

O’Connell confirmed the casting detail seven months after his involvement in the film was first announced.

Speaking to Collider at the Newport Beach Film Festival, he described the production’s atmosphere and revealed his character’s connection to Murphy’s role.

“A Quiet Place felt like family. It's about family, obviously. Got John Krasinski and Emily Blunt involved, and Cillian and I play brothers,” O’Connell said. “There was a real familial feel to that one.”

Murphy previously appeared as Emmett in A Quiet Place Part II (2021), where his character helped Evelyn Abbott and her children survive the deadly creatures known as Death Angels.

Emmett had been living alone after claiming to have lost his family, making the revelation that he has a brother potentially significant for the upcoming sequel.

O’Connell, known for playing Jimmy Crystal in 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, previously joined the same horror universe as Murphy through the 28 Days Later franchise.

Murphy starred as Jim in the original 2002 film and made a cameo at the end of the 2026 sequel.

Plot details for A Quiet Place Part III remain undisclosed. Emily Blunt is set to reprise her role as Evelyn, while Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe are expected to return as her children, Regan and Marcus Abbott.

John Krasinski will direct, write and produce the third instalment. A Quiet Place Part 3 is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on July 30, 2027.
