Liaquat Ali Khan's legacy recalled at PNCA
Minister calls for preserving national heroes' contributions for future generations

ISLAMABAD:
Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Aurangzeb Khan Khichi on Friday underscored the need to familiarise younger generations with Pakistan's history and the sacrifices and services of its national heroes, describing this as a key priority of the National Heritage and Culture Division.
He expressed these views while inaugurating a photographic exhibition at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) to mark the 75th death anniversary of Shaheed-e-Millat Liaquat Ali Khan, Pakistan's first Prime Minister and one of the country's prominent founding leaders. Samia Liaquat Ali Khan, his great-granddaughter, attended the event as guest of honour.
The federal minister appreciated the initiative, observing that such exhibitions helped preserve the memory of national leaders and highlight their contributions to Pakistan's history.
He said institutions operating under the National Heritage and Culture Division were organising activities to raise awareness of the lives, services and sacrifices of prominent national figures. He also commended Secretary of the National Heritage and Culture Division Asad Rehman Gilani for promoting such initiatives.
Khichi said exhibitions of this nature reminded the nation of the sacrifices made by its forefathers and provided an opportunity to renew its commitment to following in their footsteps for Pakistan's progress and prosperity.
He added that efforts would be made to invite students and young people from Islamabad and Rawalpindi to visit the exhibition, enabling them to learn more about the country's history, national leaders and the struggle for Pakistan.
Reaffirming the division's commitment to preserving the legacy of national heroes, the minister said their contributions must be passed on to future generations to inspire young people to play their part in national development.
Speaking on the occasion, Samia Liaquat Ali Khan applauded the organisation of the photographic exhibition in memory of Shaheed-e-Millat and thanked the federal minister and the secretary for their efforts.
Recounting her family's memories, she described Liaquat Ali Khan's assassination as the greatest tragedy of her life.
