RAWALPINDI:

The family of 45-year-old digital designer Hina Javed, who was murdered in the jurisdiction of the Civil Lines police station, has expressed complete distrust in both the Crime Control Department (CCD) and the local police and decided to file a private complaint, also described as a judicial FIR, before a local magistrate next week.

The family has obtained the relevant case record, including the FIR and details of the investigations conducted by the police and the CCD, for submission with the complaint.

The private complaint will name Hina Javed's husband, Faisal Asghar, as the principal accused, while her father-in-law, Asghar, and domestic worker Zeeshan Arshad will also be nominated as key co-accused.

Fahad Javed, the victim's brother and complainant in the case, has described the high-powered committee formed by the Punjab government under the leadership of CCD chief Sohail Zafar Chattha as completely biased.

The family alleged that efforts were being made to divert the investigation and protect Faisal Asghar by declaring him innocent and preparing to submit a challan to the court.

According to the family, DNA findings have linked the husband to three locations or items connected with the case. They said his fingerprints were found on the sheet allegedly used to strangle Hina Javed and on the latch of the room in which she was confined.

The family also questioned why the husband had allegedly remained silent if the domestic worker was committing the murder, and why he had fastened the room's latch.

A summary of the DNA report in the murder case has also revealed findings concerning biological samples collected during the investigation.

According to the summary, male reproductive cells recovered from the victim's body matched the DNA profile of the arrested domestic worker, Zeeshan Arshad. The victim's nail samples also matched his DNA, while samples collected from several objects at the crime scene reportedly contained his DNA as well.

Sources suspected that Hina Javed may have been sexually assaulted after being murdered. The samples of the victim's husband, domestic worker and father-in-law were analysed as part of the investigation.

The summary also stated that DNA attributed to Faisal Asghar was found on a broken lock, the internal latch of the room and a portion of the sheet recovered at Zeeshan Arshad's identification.
