‘GTA 6’ official launch trailer reveals story details, Justice music and PS5 footage
Rockstar Games’ new trailer offers a closer look at the story, its protagonists and the music accompanying the game

Rockstar Games has released the official launch trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, offering a closer look at the story, its protagonists and the music accompanying the highly anticipated title.
The 90-second trailer introduces Jason and Lucia, two characters whose lives take a dangerous turn after a criminal operation goes wrong.
According to Rockstar’s official description, “when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida”.
The description adds that the pair must “rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive”.
The trailer also features original music from French electronic duo Justice, who have composed the game’s original score.
Rockstar has confirmed that a new Justice single, "Flower in a Hurricane", featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, will appear on Grand Theft Auto 6: The Album, the game’s official soundtrack.
Rockstar confirmed that the trailer was captured entirely on a PlayStation 5, although it did not specify whether the footage came from the standard console or the PS5 Pro.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, 2026.
It will mark Rockstar’s first major new single-player release since Red Dead Redemption 2 launched in 2018.
In an interview with Bloomberg, studio heads Phil Hooker and Aaron Garbut also suggested that the company’s next game could arrive sooner, citing improvements to development tools, technology and team structure.
Hooker said: “The engine, the tools and the team we’ve built during this project will allow us to do things more quickly.”
