KARACHI:

Music producer, composer, songwriter and vocalist Masood Alam is set to unveil his debut album, Mohabbat-Naama, at a pre-release event at the Pakistan American Cultural Centre (PACC) on October 16.

After more than 15 years of producing music for Pakistan’s advertising and commercial industry, Alam is stepping into the spotlight with a nine-song collection that traces different stages of love, from attraction and longing to heartbreak, reconciliation and the possibility of finding love again.

According to the correspondent’s report, the event will feature screenings of all nine songs and their accompanying music videos, alongside a presentation on the album’s creative journey and behind-the-scenes material.

Featured vocalists Neha Khan and Zoya Raza will join Alam for interviews and a question-and-answer session with members of the media.

Alam has spent over a decade and a half working behind the scenes in Pakistan’s commercial music industry, collaborating with directors Ahsan Rahim, Mukhtar Zaidi, Nabeel Qureshi, Sibtain Shabbir, Raheel Faridi and Jibran Baig. His work has also involved advertising agencies including Adcom, Ogilvy, Synergy and Stimulus.

His artist collaborations include Atif Aslam, Hadiqa Kiani and Natasha Baig.

With Mohabbat-Naama, Alam is moving from producing music for commercial projects to presenting a collection under his own artistic identity. The album’s nine songs bring together themes of romance, emotional upheaval and reconciliation, charting the different turns a relationship can take.

The October 16 event will offer media an opportunity to experience the album in its entirety ahead of its release and learn more about the creative process behind Alam’s debut project.
