LAHORE:

Faisal Town police have registered a case against a man accused of raping his former fiancée after their engagement ended, according to an FIR.

Registered on October 10 under Section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code, the FIR names the suspect as Ammar Hassan.

The complainant said her family ended their engagement after learning of his alleged relationships with other women. She alleged that the suspect continued contacting her and asking her to meet.

On October 1, at 6pm, he allegedly called her to Faisal Town Road near a pizza outlet and lured her into a room, where he sexually assaulted her. She also alleged that he threatened to kill her.

Fear delayed her disclosure. She later told her elder sister, who contacted police through helpline 15. Police took the suspect into custody and registered the case after receiving a written application.

The allegations have yet to be established in court.
