SBCA adopts town system
.

KARACHI:
The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has replaced its district-based administrative structure with a town-wise system, ordering large-scale transfers and postings of officers and staff.
According to an SBCA spokesperson, the change was made under directives issued by the Sindh government's Local Government and Housing, Town Planning (HTP) Department. A formal notification has been issued, and the new arrangement will remain in place until further orders.
Officers, including directors, deputy directors, assistant directors, senior building inspectors and building inspectors, have been assigned to various towns across Karachi.
The authority said the restructuring aims to improve building regulation, curb illegal construction, speed up administrative work and ensure greater transparency at the town level.
The newly appointed officers have been directed to assume their responsibilities immediately.
The SBCA spokesperson said appointments have been completed across all towns and expressed hope that the arrangement would help enforce building regulations and facilitate the prompt resolution of public complaints.
