ABBOTTABAD:

A new outpatient department (OPD) and separate isolation wards have been set up in the Paediatrics Department of Ayub Teaching Hospital (ATH) to improve medical treatment and healthcare facilities for children.

The new facilities will provide better treatment arrangements for paediatric patients and enhance the department's operational capacity, Hospital Director Sajjad Ahmed Afridi said while speaking at the inauguration ceremony.

He said work was continuing round the clock to fulfil the commitments made to the people of Hazara, in accordance with clear directives issued by the hospital's Board of Governors (BoG) Chairman, Professor Dr Abid Jamil.

Previously, the Paediatrics OPD and emergency department were located in the same area, while children requiring isolation were accommodated in the main wards.
