RAWALPINDI:

Benazir Bhutto General Hospital has launched an expansion of its healthcare facilities, establishing an emergency dialysis centre with five machines, making two additional operation theatres functional and commencing construction of a public facilitation hall to improve services for patients and their attendants.

The emergency dialysis centre has been established for patients requiring immediate dialysis. The initiative is expected to provide timely treatment to critically ill patients who cannot afford to wait for routine dialysis arrangements.

Meanwhile, two additional dialysis machines have been added to the hospital's Urology Department, bringing the total number of machines there to 15. However, three machines are currently undergoing maintenance. Two separate dialysis machines are also available for patients suffering from hepatitis.

The hospital has also made two new operation theatres in the Urology Department functional after providing the necessary staff. The theatres have been established through a donation by Haji Naeem of Savour Foods. Their activation is expected to reduce prolonged waiting times for patients requiring surgical procedures.

In another development, construction of a public facilitation hall has commenced at the hospital with a donation from the Dr Aslam Foundation. The facility is being established for the first time to improve assistance and guidance for patients and their attendants regarding treatment and other hospital services.

BBGH Medical Superintendent Dr Sharjeel Sarfraz Sheikh said the facilitation hall would provide patients and their attendants with improved facilities and help them access healthcare services more conveniently.
