A routine walk turned fatal for two young brothers and a 25-year-old man when a long section of a union council office wall suddenly collapsed in Dawood Ghazi Goth of Malir, burying passers-by beneath the rubble.
The incident occurred near UC-2's office in the Bakra Piri area, where residents and rescue workers rushed to the scene and joined efforts to pull the victims from the debris. Two persons died at the site, while a young boy who was critically injured succumbed to his wounds hours later.
The deceased brothers were identified as 12-year-old Abraj and six-year-old Abiyan, sons of Imran. The third victim was identified as 25-year-old Faiz Abbas, son of Muhammad Ali.
According to the brothers' uncle, the children had left home to visit their maternal grandmother when the wall collapsed as they passed nearby. Abraj died on the spot, while his younger brother was critically injured and later died during treatment.
A friend of Faiz Abbas told the media that he had been speaking to the victim on his mobile phone shortly before the incident when the call suddenly disconnected. A short while later, someone called him from the same number and informed him that Faiz had died in the collapse.
