Teenager killed in celebratory firing

A 16-year-old boy was killed and a 22-year-old man seriously injured in alleged celebratory firing at a wedding function in Kharpa village of Pindi Gheb tehsil on Friday, police sources said.

The deceased, Muhammad Daniyal, sustained a bullet wound to his chest when some participants allegedly opened fire into the air during the wedding celebrations. He succumbed to his injuries. He was reportedly the only son of his parents.

Another participant, Qaiser Ali, 22, suffered a bullet wound to his neck and was seriously injured. The wedding function was being held in connection with the marriage of a man identified as Ismail. Daniyal's body was shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Pindi Gheb for medico-legal formalities, while Qaiser Ali was referred to Rawalpindi for further treatment.
