CCB revamps building control arrangements

The Chaklala Cantonment Board (CCB) has revamped its Building Control Cell and restored its administrative control after the Cantonment Executive Officer took immediate notice of a report published in The Express Tribune regarding an ongoing tussle over postings and the assumption of key charges.

Cantonment Executive Officer (CEO) Arifeen Zubair Chaudhry withdrew all previous orders and issued a fresh office order, making new postings in the Building Control Cell according to cadre and warning of strict disciplinary action against officials responsible for any illegal construction.

Under the new arrangement, Chief Engineer Zohaib Mujahid will be the overall in-charge of the Building Control Cell, while Sub-Engineer Azmat Khan will serve as its direct in-charge.

The office order states that any illegal construction found after the new postings will result in strict disciplinary action against those responsible, with formal proceedings to be initiated under the Cantonments Act, 1924.
