Three injured, two trailers torched in attacks

Gunmen set trailers on fire in Turbat as grenade wounds three in Gwadar

Armed men opened fire on two trailers parked outside a police station in Nasirabad area of Turbat district and later set the vehicles ablaze, while three people were injured in a separate grenade attack on a mobile phone shop in Gwadar's Jannat Bazaar, police said.

According to police sources, the armed attackers targeted the two trailers in front of the police station in Nasirabad. They opened fire on the vehicles before setting them on fire. The attackers fled the scene after carrying out the assault.

Following the incident, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track down the fleeing attackers. Security was also tightened in and around the area as investigations into the incident continued.

Police said the extent of the damage caused to the trailers was being assessed, while investigators were examining the circumstances surrounding the attack and attempting to determine the identity and motive of the assailants.

In a separate incident in Gwadar, three people were injured when unidentified attackers hurled a hand grenade at a mobile phone shop in Jannat Bazaar, police said.

According to police, the grenade was thrown at the shop during the night, injuring three people present inside. The injured were identified as Shaukat, his son Baqir and Zafar. Police said the three victims were residents of Kashmore district in Sindh.

The injured were shifted to a local hospital shortly after the blast, where they were provided medical treatment. Their condition was not immediately disclosed.

Police and security personnel reached the site soon after receiving information about the attack and cordoned off the area. Investigators collected evidence from the scene as part of an inquiry into the incident.

Security was subsequently increased in Jannat Bazaar and surrounding areas to prevent any further untoward incident. Police said the nature of the attack and its possible motives were being investigated from different angles.
