Several detained after assault on hospital staff

KARACHI:

A video showing a brawl and assault at DOW University Hospital's Ojha Campus following an alleged harassment complaint involving a girl during an MRI scan has gone viral on social media.

Police detained several people following the incident, while the hospital administration lodged a case over an alleged attack on Chief Operating Officer (COO) Babar Khan. The MRI technician concerned was also taken into custody over the alleged harassment complaint.

According to details, the girl visited DOW University Hospital's Ojha Campus for an MRI scan during the night between Monday and Tuesday. A complaint of alleged harassment emerged during the scan, prompting her family members to confront the hospital administration.

Babar Khan was present at the hospital to hear the complaint. However, the situation escalated when some agitated people allegedly assaulted hospital officers, staff and a security guard.
